Other techniques involve mechanical methods (scraping, pushing) or by using liquid substances that lower the freezing rate of water &#8211; salts, alcohols, glycols etc.<\/p>\n<p>The de-icing of the driveways (car parks, alleys, pavements, stairs, exterior stairs, running tracks, loading platforms and bridges) can be done by installing electrical cables. They are installed under the asphalt or concrete, invisible and efficient. In the case of roof and gutter de-icing, electric heating cables are used and the temperature can be set manually or automatically from a thermostat.
