The main role of screeds is to even out a surface and, in some cases, to raise that surface to the desired level. Thus, the surface obtained can be either the final layer or serve as a support for other finishing touches.
The mechanized screed is poured with special machines through hoses mounted on the site. The screed contains cement, sand and some binders that make it elastic and durable over time. For underfloor heating, extra additives are added for preventing later cracks, thus resulting a slightly elastic screed; a perimeter strip is mounted for the screed expansion and also for crack prevention.

SCREED TYPES
According to the execution mode, there are several types of screeds: viscous (wet), cast, dry screeds (fixed or floating) which are obtained by placing prefabricated boards over a separating layer. Also, semi-wet screeds can also be used, but the relatively long solidification time should be considered. A more detailed classification of these may be as follows:
